Solar Eclipse

On August 21, North America will experience a solar eclipse.  From our location, we will be able to see a partial eclipse.  This is a once in a lifetime experience for our students.  The school district has obtained NASA approved eclipse viewing glasses from the St. Louis Science Center for our students, and we are currently making arrangements so that the educational experience for each student is maximized.  We would love for all of our students to take part in this memorable activity, however, if you do NOT want your child to participate in the viewing, please call the school or send a note to communicate this before August 21st. All absences will be excused.

Please stress to your child that safety is a #1 priority when viewing the eclipse and he/she MUST wear the provided glasses when outside while viewing.  The maximum viewing time for Bunker Hill is 1:18 PM; therefore, staff and students will go outside for a brief period, with multiple school personnel present to assist them.

Thank you!
